opentaps has an internal messaging system which allows your users to send messages to one another through opentaps. You can configure who can use this feature: all employees, only sales reps, sales reps and customers, etc. If you have enabled internal messaging, you will see the following in the upper right hand corner of your screen, underneath your name:

You have 3 [new messages]. [Send message]

The system will automatically refresh your screen with the number of new messages you have, at a frequency configured by your system administrator.

Reading Messages

Click on the word "new messages", and the system will display your new messages for you. At this point, the new messages will automatically be marked "read" and no longer be considered new. If you have no new messages, the system will tell you "You have no new messages".

Below the messages are two additional buttons: [See all my messages] and [Close]. Clicking on [See all my messages] will take you to a screen to see all your past messages. [Close] will close the window.

Sending New Messages

Click on the [Send message] button, and a small form will open up with the following fields:

  • Send To: Select from a dropdown of the other users of the system to receive a message.
  • Message: Enter your message here.

When you are done, click [Send] to send your message or [Close] to close without sending.
