Troubleshooting the Funambol Component

The log file for the Funambol component is in hot-deploy/funambol/logs/funambol_ds.log

Setting up the Funambol server in Opentaps

After following this steps, you should have a complete funambol server working.

Synchronising Opentaps and Mozilla Thunderbird

Configuration to synchronise with the admin account with opentaps and mozilla thunderbird on the same computer:

Edit --> Preferences --> Funambol

Account server URL: http://127.0.0.1:8080/funambol/ds Username: admin Password: ofbiz

Synchronize Items --> Contact --> Details

Select the addressbook to sync Remote name: otcontact

If you have the extension Lightning, you can also synchronise your calendar. I recommand to install the extension Provider for google calendar as well, so you can export items from Thunderbird to Google Calendar.

Synchronize Items --> Calendar --> Details

Select the Calendar to sync Remote name: otcalendar

Synchronising Opentaps and Outlook

In case you are using windows 2000, you have to use the funambol outlook plugin 3.0.15 But this plugin can't synchronise contacts with the funambol version 6 which is included in opentaps. You'll be able to synchronise tasks and calendar only.

To install this plugin, you have to follow the instruction in the document http://download.forge.objectweb.org/sync4j/Outlook_Plugin_UG.pdf

Configuration to synchronise with the admin account with opentaps and outlook plugin on the same computer:

Edit --> Communication Settings SyncServer URL: http://127.0.0.1:8080/funambol/ds Username: admin Password: ofbiz

Edit --> Synchronisation Settings Activate synchronisation with Contacts, Calendar, Tasks Remote Settings: Contact Name otcontact Calendar Name otcalendar Task Name ottask

Hit the Synchronize button.

The synchronisation with Calendar doesn't work, because yahoo connector use calendar in Vcalendar format only and opentaps send the calendar in sif format. Please don't activate it.
