Introduction to Store Surveys
The opentaps system supports deployment of Customer surveys at various points during a Customer visit. The Surveys are prepared in the Content Manager application (which is available for use, but is not displayed on the main menus in opentaps). Surveys are then selected for use in a Store and are added to the Store Surveys Tab, indicating that they are to be deployed to Customers in the Store.
Preparation of Surveys
The preparation and storage of Surveys for deployment in the Stores is accomplished in a function of the Content Manager Application. The User Guide section that discusses and details Survey Preparations is this one, Creating Surveys.

Deployment of Surveys via the Virtual Store/Website Store
Once the Survey is prepared and saved using the Content Manager, as explained in the last section, the Survey can be selected for addition to the Store Surveys Tab, making it ready to deploy via the Website Store. To perform this step, proceed as follows:
Open [Catalog] > [Catalog Manager Application] drop down menu > [Stores] link > [Store ID] to be edited in the "Store ID" list box, the "Edit Product Store" page opens. Click: [Surveys] Tab, the "Edit Product Store Surveys" page opens displaying two boxes, this is the first box:
- Edit Product Store Surveys box -- Lists any previously selected Surveys for deployment via this Store, and the following characteristics for the Survey as deployed via this Store:
- Type -- Defines the point within a Customer visit to the Store where this Survey will be deployed for the Customer response.
- Name -- A name assigned to this particular deployment of the Survey.
- Surveys -- The name of the saved Survey that is stored in the system (Content Manager) after it is prepared. Each entry in this column is a link, see the section about Editing below.
- Product -- If deployment of the Survey is contingent on the Customer choosing a particular Product, this is that Product ID.
- Category -- If deployment of the Survey is contingent on the Customer choosing from a particular Category, this is that Category ID.
- From Date -- Deployment of the Survey via the Website Store will begin on this date. Note that there is no "Thru" date displayed for stopping the deployment via this Store, so when you wish to discontinue a survey you must delete the entry from the list box for this particular Store.
- Sequence Num -- Controls the order of the items in the list box on this page.
- [Delete] -- Removes the line item from the list box, thereby discontinuing the Survey deployment on this Store.
Adding a Survey to the Store
The second box displayed on this page is this one:
- Add Product Store Surveys box -- The box contains the form for adding a Survey to the Store, and includes the following fields to customize this Store deployment of the previously saved Survey:
- Type -- Defines the point within a Customer visit to the Store where this Survey will be deployed for the Customer response.
- Group Name -- A name assigned to this particular deployment of the Survey.
- Surveys -- The name of the saved Survey that is stored in the system (Content Manager) after it is prepared.
- Product ID -- If deployment of the Survey is contingent on the Customer choosing a particular Product, this is that Product ID.
- Category ID -- If deployment of the Survey is contingent on the Customer choosing from a particular Category, this is that Category ID.
- From Date -- Deployment of the Survey via the Website Store will begin on this date.
- Thru Date -- This entry is not displayed in the List Box of Surveys, nor in the Edit Surveys function, therefore you cannot verify what is entered here. The entry is for the last date for deployment of the Survey.
Note that there is no "Thru" date displayed for stopping the deployment via this Store, so when you wish to discontinue a survey you must delete the entry from the list box for this particular Store.
- Sequence Num -- Controls the order of the items in the list box on this page.
The following two entries require Technical System Administrator support:
- Survey Template Path -- Specifies the installation directory path to the location of the desired Survey document.
- Result Template Path -- Specifies the installation directory path to the location of the Survey Results document.
When finished with the entry of data for these fields, remember to save your changes:
Click: [Add] at the bottom of the form.
Viewing Survey Results
To view the results of a Survey refer to this screen,Survey_Results_Screen.
